Magnificent Left Hand Drive Silver Cloud III completely restored and recently serviced. This National Rolls-Royce Owners Club First Place Winner comes with all tools, manuals and original build sheet from Crewe, England.
This car was originally delivered in England in 1964 and was chauffeur driven throughout Europe. (I have the badge bar & badges of the countries visited by the original owner and they will come with the car). An interesting fact is that the car originally came with a roof luggage rack. I have searched in vain for a photo of a Silver Cloud III with a roof luggage rack and have never found one. I know this to be true as when I was having the headliner replaced, the upholsterer showed me where the holes had once been to hold the roof rack. Also, the car was originally a two-toned Tudor Grey in color and was repainted by Rolls-Royce in English White when that new color was introduced in the Cornish Series. The luggage rack was removed at that time.
The second owner had the leather refurbished and I had the carpets replaced. The car originally had an amber colored interior walnut wood and when I was having the wood refurbished, the wood refinisher (an artisan who primarily worked with private jet wood interiors) suggested tinting the wood a slight rose color to match the Connelly Red Leather Interior. Great call, it's beautiful. The car has power windows, power steering, and Rolls-Royce installed after market air conditioning. This was the first year that Rolls-Royce introduced tinted windows.
The car has a solid ride and has had the front springs replaced and the rear springs re-arced. It has a new updated stereo sound system. The last long trip was from Dallas, Texas to Sedona, Arizona and back (approximately 2500 miles) when I chaired the RROC Tour of Enchantment. The car rode beautifully and burned very little oil. The car is in such good condition that it could easily be shown in Concourse and would only lose a point for the after market sound system.
I am the third owner of the car (purchasing it from Michael Hammer, the grandson of Armand Hammer who was reducing his car collection), and have owned the car for almost 30 years. Her name is Florence and I still enjoy watching heads turn as she motors down the road as she is truly one of a kind. The reason I am selling her is that at my age it is time to let someone else experience the pride and enjoyment of ownership and I have another Rolls-Royce that I use as a daily driver.
