1949 Mercury 2 door. This iconic Southern California custom built Merc, built by none other than Sledsville Hot Rod & Kustom Co, who specializes in building radical custom tradition styled hot rods and Kustoms in Riverside Ca. This car has a 4.5" chop, nosed, decked and shaved. Frenched 1952 Mercury head light bezels, frenched and rolled tail lights. Rounded hood corners, with molded in grill shell. 11 tooth Desoto grill on top of a Sledsville grill pan. Shaved and smoothed front and rear bumpers with custom fit 1954 Chevy grill guards as overriders. Chrome lake pipes with molded in lake pipe tubes. Flush mounted '51 Merc skirts. Custom fit 1952 Desoto Dash, with LimeWorks stainless steel steering column and new Ford Crestliner steering wheel. The drive train is powered by a new custom built De-stroked small block Chevy putting out 460 horse power, backed by a built 400 turbo transmission with a Lokar floor shifter and a GM rear Diff. Front suspension is a 1980 Camaro subframe, and all parts are new hub to hub. Quick ratio steering box with all stainless steel steering joints and shaft. New custom aluminum radiator built by Entropy radiators, rated up to 700 HP, with dual fans and fully adjustable thermostat relay system. Ron Francis wiring harness. Custom and hidden stereo sound system with iPod connection. Interior is all custom black on black tuck and roll. Side windows are power, operated by stock window cranks. Wheels are 15" steel smoothies by The Wheel Smith, powder coated gloss black with stainless beauty trim rings, chrome inner trim rings and chrome spider caps in the center, wrapped with Firestone 670 pie crust white wall tires. This Mercury is fully equipped with air ride suspension, and custom made air controls in the dash. The paint is black with flames, using all House Of Kolor paint materials.
