1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in Las Vegas, Nevada

Vehicle Description

This Trans Am is from a private collection. It is one of 697 Trans Ams and one of only 520 produced with the 4-speed manual transmission. It is powered by the original born-with Ram Air III engine (code WQ). Originally delivered to Ray Carver Pontiac in Costa Mesa, CA, it remained there for the majority of the next 40 years. This car received a full frame-off restoration approximately 10 years ago. It was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The subframe was removed and the entire drivetrain was rebuilt. The body of this vehicle still wears all the original sheet metal, and the body fit is laser-straight and better than new. Once the body was prepared, it was given a fresh coat of the correct Polar White, with careful care given to make sure that the twin blue stripes were properly placed. It was detailed as close as possible to replicate how this rare and unusual vehicle left Pontiac's Norwood plant. The Ram Air III engine and all associated parts were completely rebuilt. Everything was reassembled and the entire engine assembly was given a coat of the correct Pontiac silver-blue engine paint. The restoration on this Firebird is factory correct, right down to the original style Goodyear white-letter tires. It comes with copies of all PHS paperwork and Pontiac Division Window Sticker.
