In 1975, Porsche was forced to build 400 road-going examples of their 911 Turbo in order to participate in its racing category. The excellence of their engineering exercise allowed the cars to quickly gain a cult-type following, which led Porsche to continue building the 911 Turbo past the homologation requirements. The 911 Turbo with the type 930 engine was produced through 1989.
This 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe is presented in red featuring a sunroof, dual exhaust and the famous “whale tail.” The car rides on low profile tires which are mounted on unique aftermarket wheels. It’s powered by the 3.3-liter turbocharged six-cylinder type 930 engine which is paired to a four-speed manual transmission. Power equipment on the car includes power windows, steering and brakes.
