Reliable sources indicate the total Mustang series accounted for 299,824 cars that Ford produced in 1969. From this, 72,458 Mach 1’s were produced in the same model year. Only 13,261 Mustang’s received either the 428 SCJ or 428 CJ in 1969.
Accompanied by a Marti Report which confirms its original 428 Super Cobra Jet with Ram Air status; it also endorses this Mach 1 as having a C6 automatic transmission with Traction-Lok rear end with the optional 4.30:1 gearing. Produced eight days behind schedule on January 21, 1969, the Mach 1 also has power front disc brakes, AM radio and tinted glass throughout listed on the report. The rare Drag Pack with oil cooler, and requiring the powertrain options of this car, is also onboard. Argent-styled wheels, Sports Slats, sport mirrors, hood pins, blacked out hood and more easily identify this musclecar. The Marti Report does note that this car was originally presented in Silver Jade with White vinyl interior. With the 428 SCJ engine and its inherent desirability intact, this provides a great opportunity to acquire such a special car.
