Karl Kustoms has developed their name by creating one of a kind custom Corvettes. They bring the best of two generations into one performance-packed package. The base of their designs comes from the second generation, 1963 Corvette split window to the 1967 Corvette Sting Ray. The end goal is to add a charm by restyling the body panels from a modern day car and finishing it with the timeless design from the C2 Corvettes. All of this is completed without any comprises to the safety features that the car was designed with.
To start the process of creating this custom Corvette, any C6 platform will suffice. Next the interior options are processed; customizing the whole interior from factory styling is a possibility. Following this the exterior color is decided from a wide range of modern day color options to vintage color options from the 60s. The last step is to pick finishing details that include custom wheels and exhaust.
The custom Corvette offered here has been re-styled to reflect the ageless design of the 1967 Corvette Sting Ray. The body design was completed by Karl Kustoms; and the performance comes from a Lingenfelter V-8 engine. This LS7 series, 427-cid engine has been built to perform with 660-hp. To reach this number the engine received a Lingenfelter Competition hydraulic roller camshaft, Ferrea dual valve springs, Lingenfelter high flow air intake, 50-lb per hour fuel injectors, American Racing Headers and high flow catalytic converters. Other work done in the machine shop to boost horsepower includes: CNC porting of the cylinder heads, porting the intake, port and polish the throttle body, multi-angle valve job; and surfacing the cylinder heads to bring the compression ratio to 11.5:1. This engine setup gives the car a very aggressive idle through the custom tuned exhaust, while maintaining everyday drivability.
The exterior of the Corvette has been painted in Wanda Pacific Blue with a classic styled 427 big block stinger hood that is accented with black paintwork. The body work is accentuated with a custom third taillight, chrome bumpers, spyder design chrome wheels and badging that replicates the original vintage badging. The interior of this Corvette is tailored black leather upholstered bucket seats that feature pleated inserts. Also adorning the interior are custom door panels and a pleated console lid.
