1957 Chevrolet Corvette Fuel-Injected Convertible in Auburn, Indiana
To be OFFERED AT AUCTION at Auctions America’s Auburn Fall event, September 1-4, 2016.
Chassis No. E57S104145
Estimate: $100,000 - $120,000 US
In 1957 the Chevrolet Corvette offered, for the first time, optional fuel injection as well as an optional four-speed transmission. The 283-cid fuel-injected engine allowed the Corvette to become the first production car to offer an impressive one horsepower per cubic inch.
This 1957 Chevrolet Corvette has been beautifully restored to its desirable presentation in Onyx Black with a black cove and black convertible top. The car rides on blackwall tires mounted on steel wheels with basic “dog dish” style center caps. The car is powered by a 283-cid, 283-hp V-8 fuel-injected engine, making it a rare example of which only 713 were produced in 1957. The engine is paired to a four-speed manual transmission, an option featured in only 664 cars. The interior is completed in beige featuring bucket seats and a Wonderbar radio. Additional features on this Corvette include a windshield washer system. This Corvette’s all black exterior as well as the desirable engine and transmission options make this a unique Corvette, well suited for any collection.
