Offered here for your consideration is a very rare 1940 Ford V/8 Tudor. This car is one out of only 1,288 produced with a FoMoCo original factory installed Mercury 239 CI flathead engine. The engine is freshly rebuilt with 59AB (1946-48) heads and a (1952-53) crankshaft plus a completely rebuilt carb.
The odometer reads under 50k miles that appear to be original. The vehicle received a body off Rotisserie restoration and has garnered a AACA Senior Award.
Starting with a superb all-steel body with perfect gaps on the doors, hood and trunk, the car received an expertly applied mirror-finished Lyons Blue exterior paint. The interior upholstery was professionally restored in correct Tan Broadcloth which is quite beautiful. The dash, steering wheel and column were restored correctly. All wood grain on the window frames were masterfully applied. The trunk is restored with correct cardboard and rubber mat. Tool tray area under the trunk mat is still factory original and serviceable with heavy waffle pattern tar paper. New old-stock running boards are outstanding. The engine starts and runs flawlessly and the vehicle drives "true" down the road perfectly. All wheel cylinders have been replaced including the master cylinder. The steering gear and shift linkage have also been refurbished. The radiator is split-core and has been re-cored. The engine bay and undercarriage are as detailed and clean befitting the exterior of the vehicle. California DMV registration will be paid May 1st and will remain current until May 18, 2019.
