Every once in awhile I will get a car in here that you just don't see too often. This car is a case in point! This 1965 Mercury is not only unusual, as there were only 9,645 built, but the condition of this particular car is exemplary! This car had its original Polar White paint on it when it was repainted in this very bright, very striking Olympic White color. The paint is base/clear and the body panels, trim and chrome are as clean and straight as they were the day the car left the factory. All of the weather stripping was replaced, and the trenches and jams were painted as well, and they look amazing. The interior is medium Palomino (tan) with bench seats. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery or the headliner. The dash has no cracking and all of the gauges are bright and are easy to read. The under carriage and the trunk are clean, dry and are free of rust.
The front suspension has been rebuilt, the brakes work great and the master cylinder is new. The Merc was originally equipped with a 390 CID 2bbl engine, but has a nice upgrade to a 460 CID 4bbl engine. The engine starts and runs fantastic and the rebuilt C-6 automatic shifts very nicely. This is a great driving car! Due to its long wheel base, the car is very smooth riding, and you can cruise around with the entire family if you like. It's that spacious! The new exhaust give this Marauder the performance sound it deserves and the new 15” Torq Thrust wheels and tires finish off the clean look of this special car. Clean lines of a family oriented performance car of the 1960's with super clean paint and bright trim, Big cube, strong running engine, great sounding exhaust and nice choice of wheels and tires. I gotta tell ya...if you look at this car in person, you will certainly appreciate how nice it really is. Love it!
