For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Bolivar, Missouri

Vehicle Description

1957 four door Chevy Bel Air Power Glide, numbers matching, 283 automatic, manual brakes with new calipers, brake lines, proportioning valve and new dual cylinder. Gauges and radio work. Running on new (inexpensive) 14" Firestone tires - would look and drive so much better w better quality, bigger wheels. Very solid with minimal rust in rocker panels and light surface rust in rear visible only when up on a lift. Solid floorboards. Garage kept. Trunk has been sanded and rhino guard applied. Chrome and paint are in great shape. Professionally buffed last month to renew soft butter yellow luster. Radiator needs replaced or recored. Has just developed a small leak. Previous owner bought it as his dream car just before a life threatening disease left him unable to drive it. He had local mechanic install a new gas tank, tie rods, belts, hoses installed and seals replaced then could only put it away where it sat for ten years. The rear window seal was the only one not replaced and it looks like it leaked leaving a light stain on pale yellow headliner. It should steam out easily. He also had the original engine and transmission rebuilt at a local, well known and long standing shop here in Bolivar. (I verified this info w the owner who did the work.) The original interior is in very good condition - no rips, tears or wear spots except for a 4 inch section of fabric that pulled away from the door panel. That's it. There is play in the steering column that I don't like but it drives and steers easily. A modern steering column would be in order if I kept it. It would be great to have air conditioning. Modern running gear with new wheels would make it awesome. Great car as it is - starts right up and drives fine. I'm moving back home to Oregon after the recent death of my mom. I bought this beautiful vehicle to cheer her up (our favorite color) and cruise the square together. She died before her first ride. I have lost my enthusiasm for this beautiful car painted our favorite butter yellow color. VIN VC57K107569
