1971 was a pivotal year for the long running successful Beetle. The early '71 cars were the standard beetle you see here, and during the year morphed into the Super Beetle, which over the years have become less desirable than the standard model. This particular car was purchased by its second owner in mid 1971 from a friend that had purchased it new in Seattle, Washington, then took it to Ketchikan, Alaska where its current owner purchased it and brought the car to Oregon.
The car was very well maintained throughout its life changing hands only the one time. As such, this Bug could really be billed as a survivor as it wears most of its original paint, has its original engine and drive train, all of its original trim and bright work. Original dash, gauges and interior save for reupholstered seats. In other words, this Beetle has not been restored, but rather very well maintained through the years as necessary. If you've ever considered owning an original VW Bug, one that hasn't been torn up, rusted out, garage kept by one owner since nearly new, take a look at this little car. It's a nice one.
