Almost fifty years and ten different generations of the Delta 88
were produced from 1949-1999 and twenty-five of those years the
Delta 88 was Oldsmobiles flag ship and best selling model. In
addition to the accolades is the 1965-1970 GM B-platform is the
fourth best selling platform in automotive history behind the VW
Beetle, Ford Model T and the Lada Riva.
The 1970 was the final year for the sixth generation of 88. Things
remained pretty status quo for this generation only offering a
couple of engine variants. These were full-size cars and were
slightly re-styled for the last two years of production.
In addition to the convertible being pretty rare, you will be hard
pressed to find such a fresh restoration on one. Finished just a
few years ago, this car underwent a complete frame off restoration
with receipts in hand totaling close to $50,000. This beauty runs,
drives and stops like new with amenities like power windows, brakes
and even power convertible top that has been replaced with the ever
so desired haartz cloth material and glass rear window. This car
has been completely gone through and looks amazing.
