It's time to let this one go. I have had this car a while, had lots of fun with it but, it is time for someone else enjoy it.
This is a rare beauty! A real piece of history! 1964 Galaxie 500, 352 c.u engine ,4 brl carb, 3 spd Cruise-O-Matic auto transmission. If you are looking for a completely restored factory fresh car this is NOT the one for you , STOP reading.
If you want a dependable car with that nostalgic feel, that puts you back in time when you get in and drive then READ on, this may be the one for you.
Engine and transmission have been rebuilt by professional shops. Engine; Bored .30 over, new pistons, crank turned 10-10. new cam, bearings, lifters, oil pump, timing set. Heads reconditioned with hardened exhaust seats, many more parts too numerous to mention.
New hoses and belts.
Re-cored hi performance cooling radiator. New gas tank, new mufflers, rear axle seals and bearings.
Transmission rebuilt by local shop, however it does have a couple small leaks. .
Brakes; New master cyl, wheel cyls, brake hoses and shoes. Steering and suspension good, rebuilt p.s control valve, ram and p.s. pump, new p.s hoses, new idler arm bushings.
New tires at 93,000 miles with optional wire wheel covers. Original interior in good condition, some minor deterioration on top of rear seat back.
Optional slide away steering column.
Most paint seems original, has had some repair.
Glass excellent ,Original radio no longer works, all gauges but clock work. Has optional slide away steering column (see in photo). Has some small dents, dings and scratches, they call that patina, just the way it was when it was a family car.
This is a fun cruising Classic car and handles fantastic on the highway.
This car gets a lot of attention where ever I take it. From the purist right down to folks that like the old car look and feel they all seem to enjoy it.
All repairs were done at 93,000 miles, odometer shows 95752. I drive it regularly so that will change a bit.
