For Sale: 1969 Pontiac FIREBIRD PRO TOURING LS3 in Bettendorf, Iowa
1969 PRO Touring Firebird. Carousel Red with black interior. FRESH
rotisserie restoration completed approximately 1 year ago. This
Firebird was completely stripped down to a shell. Any filler
remaining was removed from the body and the restorer was left with
a clean start. A professional assessment called for a new
sub-frame, firewall extensions, and front and rear floor pans. New
LH and RH fenders were added as well as a RH door shell and both L
& R door skins. A rear body panel was fitted along with LH and RH
quarter panels. The chassis was undercoated and inner fender liners
and lower trunk side panels were replaced. New roof drip molding
was also added. The Firebird now sits in a brilliant Carousel Red
finish. Grills, bright work (emblems inside and out) and lenses are
also NEW. PERFORMANCE: Power comes from a brand new Chevy LS3 crate
motor pushing 430hp. The 6.2L V8 is mated to a brand new 4L65E
4-speed auto transmission. A muscle car oil pan was added to the
LS3. The new auto shifter has been professionally installed on the
floor using the factory center console. A new fuel tank and lines
were fitted as well as transmission lines. A complete wiring kit
was installed to accommodate new lighting, accessories. A Vintage
Air A/C system is now in place for those Hot August Nights. A
billet power steering reservoir provides a finishing touch on a
highly-detailed engine bay. SUSPENSION & DRIVELINE: Moser axels and
a 12 bolt True-Trac posi rear end was given new bearings and
powder-coated, to complete the finish of the split mono-leaf
suspension with "Ride Adjustable Shocks" they added Cal-Tracs
traction system. 4 wheel disc brakes are met with new lines,
hardware, fittings and hoses. The front suspension has new
ball-joints, tie-rods, lowering springs and drop spindles to
improve camber. A new power steering gear box offers an improved
quicker ratio. Wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust, 2 tone
black w/ polished lip staggered sized. Black-wall Firestone
Firehawk performance tires keep this car grounded. INTERIOR:
features include original seats with new foam and vinyl covering
with new head rests. Carpet kit, headliner and A-pillar molding
were also replaced with new. The all-black interior flows very well
with new door panels, handles and arms rests. A replacement
headlight switch was added to the new dashboard containing new Auto
Meter Ultra-Light II gauges. A new dash pad sits atop and a new
Grant Formula GT steering wheels. New emblems were used throughout
the car, interior included a new rear view mirror in place.
Comprehensive Build Information: The new owner will receive 2
large, organized binders containing receipts, manuals and parts
info on the build. Also included is a reprinted Fisher Body Service
Manual, an Assembly Manual and Wiring Manual. This Resto-modded
Firebird is a show-stopping sight that offers heart-stopping raw
