For Sale: 1934 Ford Pickup Nostalgic Hot Rod in Kentwood, Michigan
Although Ford had been producing factory made pickup trucks since
1925, the changes made to the truck line in 1932 would set Ford
apart from its competition and establish the auto maker's
reputation as a builder of powerful and sturdy work vehicles. The
Ford Motor Company proved its ability to adapt during the difficult
post-Depression years of the 1930s. The innovative Ford trucks and
cars made during this time managed to remain fairly priced - an act
of flexibility that helped Ford survive the decade.
This is no ordinary Ford Pickup, this truck in Teal with the gray
modern interior was meticulously built and every nook and cranny
were checked over and over by the builder. Starting with the
chassis, it was built by Cornhuskers out of Nebraska. The front
suspension has chrome tubular dropped front axle, Vega steering
box, with stainless or chrome parts not only for the great look but
an extremely comfortable ride. The rear suspension is an 8'' Ford
rear end completely rebuilt with Aldan adjustable coil over shocks
with a pan hard sway bar. With all around disc brakes, aluminum
dual master cylinder, and also an original style emergency brake.
Powering this truck is a Ford 59 AB Flathead bored out to be a
256ci V8. With a Borg-Warner T-5 5-speed transmission with
overdrive linked through a hydraulic clutch. Power is transmitted
through an aluminum driveshaft, it has 14'' wheels and tires, '40
hubcaps with special removal tool, and trim rings. This truck has
the beauty of the original with modern parts that make this is a
hard to match ride.
