GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1979 Jeep Wagoneer for purchase. The Jeep Wagoneer was the first luxury 4x4 sold under different names from 1963 to 1991. While Land Rover and International Harvester offered vehicles in similar shape, the luxury of the Wagoneer set it apart offering unheard of features in a 4-wheel drive such as automatic transmission and power steering. Essentially, this was an SUV before anyone coined the term. Overall, the Wagoneers were far ahead of their time and many credits them for the SUV craze of the 1990's. Their classic looks (read Woody!) combined with functionality & durability make well-preserved examples highly collectible today.
The 1977 Jeep Wagoneer presented here is a nice example having been treated to one recent repaint in its original Topaz Gold Metallic exterior paint. This classic SUV is powered by its 360 V8, Selec-Trac full-time all-wheel drive, 3-speed automatic transmission. Other mechanical highlights include power steering, power brakes, cold factory AC, and low / high 4WD. Overall, this Wagoneer presents its self quite wonderful. The tan interior features desirable plaid seat material, bench front seat, excellent dash, original carpets, and seatbelts. The exterior paint shows very nice, the trim and bright work appear original as do the aluminum wheels. Other highlights include the optional roof rack, wood grain sides, roll down rear window, and fold down rear tailgate. The unrestored, original underside, frame and engine compartment remain excellent original. This Jeep is a great driver demonstrating excellent mechanical fitness, tight suspension and steering, cold air conditioning and a great performing motor in all driving situations from stop and go traffic to highway speeds. With Ice Cold A/C this Wagoneer is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
Vintage SUV's have become very desirable in today's classic vehicle market, and the timeless design of Jeeps Wagoneer make them the top of the food chain in the full-size arena. An original / usable example such as this will not last long on our floor.
