While America was struggling in the onset of the great depression in 1929, American industry was ramping up with the likes of steel manufacturing, oil fields and railroads. As difficult as this time period was for a country nudging out of its infancy, the automobile industry was also gaining traction. Henry Ford's proven assembly line was churning out the successor to the Model T in the form of the new Model A. Some nine different configurations of the Model A were offered to the public including “A's” such as this one! Gone were the days of: “You can have any color you want, as long as it's black”. So the American landscape began to awaken with colors on their cars. This particular car is finished in Balsam Green with yellow wheels and it's vibrancy still pops today. This little roadster starts, runs and drives very nicely, and all operations on the car work as they should. One nice upgrade is the addition of hydraulic brakes, that in today's world adds nicely to the safety factor, as well as the added seat belts. All of the factory gauges work, all of the lights work, the engine and transmission have been rebuilt. The clutch is new, the paint shines nicely over the all Henry Ford Steel body. The black roadster top is in nice shape as is the tan canvas boot. The side curtains also accompany the car. This is a very nice, very driveable, well working Model A roadster, painted in a desirable, outstanding color combination.
