For Sale: 1973 Ferrari Dino in Scotts Valley, California
Built in April of 1973 and originally delivered to Germany, this
exceptionally well-maintained Dino 246 GTS was Wayne Obrey's
personal Ferrari, and was completely and meticulously restored by
Wayne and his team at Motion Products.
Wayne Obry was called the world's leading expert on Ferraris, and
with good reason. He was not only the cofounder of Motion Products,
but was also a lifetime IAC/PFA judge and vintage Ferrari
consultant. He and the staff at MPI had the privilege of helping
their clients cross the stage at the Pebble Beach Concours
d'Elegance 34 times in this millennium alone. Wayne also had the
honor of receiving the first 100-point Ferrari at Pebble Beach in
1993.
With a resume like that you can imagine the quality of a car he
called his own, such as this beautiful Dino 246 GTS. A European
model, the car is recorded as being in Southern California from the
1980s, and would then move on to Paul Appleton of Wisconsin in
2004. Wayne Obrey would purchase 06252 after 2005 and would execute
a concours winning restoration on the car. The result would make
this car a Ferrari Club of America Coppa di Platino award winner in
2008.
