1977 Chevrolet Monza Pro Stock Race Car in Jefferson, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

This car was campaigned heavily during the 80’s . It has history from Super Gas at the major NHRA races. It is really a piece of art! The fabrication and tin work is spectacular. You really need to examine it in person. It hasn’t been raced in years. As it sits, it has a great look that suits Nostalgia Pro Stock. That is where I race another car. That is why this car was purchased. This is a full-blown race with car with only a bill of sale. There is no serial numbers. It is race only. The chassis is 2×3 rectangular tubing. The front is strut. The suspension, both front and rear , is Koni adjustable shocks. The front wheels are spindle mount behind Wilwood single piston disc brakes. The rear end is a Dana 60 with 4.88 gears and a spool. The brakes are four-piston Wilwood discs. We went through this car from top to bottom and front to back. All brakes are new. The fuel system is new. The tires are new. The fronts are 5.50/15 Morosso, the rears are 14.5/320/15 Phoenix. They are mounted on very nice polished vintage two piece Supertricks. The safety equipment is new. The belts and roll bar pudding. We have a window net if you desire. There is a functional parachute. The fire extinguisher is fully charged. There are functional wheelie bars. The body is steal. The windows are glass. You truly need to see it. The tubs, floors, door panels and roll cage are like jewelry. Whoever fabricated this did amazing work. I would almost bet they built the big tube headers. All is amazing and needs to be seen to be appreciated. The engine was fresh when the car was parked. We believe that to be true. It is supposed to be a 496 with 262/271 solid roller cam with .685/.633 lift. We installed the 1050 Dominator. The fuel pump and filter are new. The heads are 1973 454 oval port cast iron. The ignition is MSD 6 with Mallory coil and dizzy. The tach is mechanical. A professional fuse box was installed. The radiator is a Shirocco. An electric motor spins a belt driving the fan and water pump. We installed new valve covers with baffled breathers that are used to evacuate the vapors with header vacuum. The transmission is a race built Turbo 400. The shifter is a Winters. The pattern is reverse. There is no Trans brake. We installed a new line lock. This is a fantastic car that is ready to race. Just fit it to yourself, give it your tune and have fun. All fluids were changed, you are ready to enjoy!
