The owner reports his classic Split Window Corvette still has its original driveline. The numbers matching 327/300hp engine is mated to a 4-speed (M20) transmission and Positraction differential. The odometer reads just 33,992 miles.
It is obvious this Corvette has been seldom driven in order to preserve its condition and protect its investment potential. A close inspection of the interior will support the low mileage odometer reading.
As you view the photos, you will notice many of the parts, fasteners, coverings, and trim pieces on this beautiful Sebring Silver Split Window appear to be original. Yes we know, some of the parts are not correct but they are minor and easily replaced. The owner states the Corvette appears to have all its original fiberglass panels.
The current owner has been caretaker of this Sting Ray since 1991. The engine was given a general overhaul to standard specifications. You might notice the aluminum high-rise intake manifold was installed. And the air cleaner is the L76 style. The ignition shielding is in storage as is the tire tub and wheel covers. Those parts are included in the sale.
This Split Window drives and handles like you would expect back in the day. The engine runs strong through all the gears and the Vette tracks straight down the road.
The trim plate identifies the paint as 941 (Sebring Silver). The Red vinyl interior is also the correct 490C code.
