1922 Ford Model T Open Cab Express in Owls Head, Maine

This 1922 Model T Open Cab Express is the result of a collaborative program involving museum staff and volunteers, high school students from the Mid-Coast School of Technology, businesses, and individual members of the community. Assembled entirely from donated and fabricated parts, this Model T represents dedication and passion that transcends age and geographic location. The donated engine was professionally rebuilt by J&M Machine Co. of Southborough, MA. Students at the Mid-Coast School of Technology, a public technical high school that serves students from 21 communities in the Midcoast region, assisted with engine installation and completed the body and paint work on this vehicle during a dedicated extracurricular program. Under the tutelage of Museum staff and educators at the MCST, this group of students diligently worked every Thursday after school to complete the build. Owls Head Transportation Museum volunteers restored the chassis, rear end and additional mechanical components, and David Currier of Richard A. Currier’s Horseless Carriage Company helped to design and construct the attractive open cab express body. This vehicle represents the achievement of multiple groups and individuals working together toward a common educational purpose, and we are proud to present it at NO RESERVE in the 39th annual New England Auto Auction™. Proceeds from the sale of this 1922 Model T will be utilized to benefit museum educational programs, and a portion will also be allocated for a special award to a youngster pursuing a post-secondary education in the automotive restoration field. A special thanks to the students and teachers at the Mid-Coast School of Technology, the staff and volunteers at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, Joe Germann of Motorhead Extraordinaire, J&M Machine Company., Paul Baresel, Wayne Stinson and David Currier for their time, support and assistance in bringing this project to fruition.
