Circa 1957. The Corvette is now entering its 5th year of production
and fresh off its complete redesign in 1956. The new styling for
1956 gave the Corvette a sleek and extremely clean appearance. For
1957, for the first time, the Corvette offered fuel injection for
its proven 283 V8 as well as a 4-speed manual transmission was also
offered for the first time. Although the appeearence was little
changed from the year prior, a plethora of new color combinations,
wheel and hard top options gave the consumer the advantage of
personalizing a car just for them. Known as the "Fuelie", the fuel
injected corvettes for 1957 offered unprecedented performance
packaged in stunning styling. Known as America's first sports car
and arguably Corvettes sweet spot in performance and style; for the
first time, American auto manufactures had a car that could rival
any sports car coming from across the Atlantic.

restored, two time NCRS Top Flight 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Fuel
Injected Roadster. This Roadster, chassis number, E57S103500, was
built between April - May of 1957. The car has been masterfully
restored by noted and highly regarded 56-57 Corvette specialist Roy
Ester using only original and /or NOS parts with all part numbers
and codes inline with the build of the car. The car was judged in
May of 1999 for NCRS where it scred 99.59 overall points and
received its first Top Filght Award. After a change of ownership,
the car was again Judged in June of 2005 NCRS nationals were it
scored 98.1, again achieving a top flight status. Today, the car
remains outstanding in all areas. Finished in Artic Blue with
Silver painted coves over Red interior, this Corvette is stunning
in appearance and draws a crowd when ever seen. The paint, now 18
years old still shows excellent and remains near flawless in
appearance giving testament to the restoration quality, the chrome,
stainless and other bright work are excellent, the engine and
engine bay remain fully correct and fully detailed as does the
frame and underside, and the interior is to die for. One turn of
the key and the Rochester fed 283 / 283 hp V8 roars to life setting
the stage for an incredible driving experience that only well
sorted properly maintained examples can deliver. According to the
owner and Judging sheets, the car is optioned with its original
4-speed manual transmission (with correct "57" on shifter, original
3.70 Positraction rear axle, Wonderbar signal seeking radio,
Emergency Brake Flasher, Jack and Spare, Windshield Washers,
spinner hubcaps and wide whites.
Perhaps no other Corvette has hit the sweet spot in performance and
