For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet C 30 Tow Truck in Kentwood, Michigan
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 C30 1- Ton Tow
Truck. The C/K was Chevrolet and GMC's full-size pickup truck line
from 1960 until 1998 in the United States. The first Chevrolet
pickup truck came out in 1924. Several changes occurred in 1971.
First came a new grille design (the "egg crate") for Chevrolet
trucks and black paint over portions of the GMC grille. Second, an
additional trim package was introduced: the Cheyenne. On GMC
models, this was referred to as the Sierra. These packages
consisted mostly of comfort features - nicer interiors, more
padding and insulation, carpet, chrome trim, and upper and lower
side molding and tailgate trim. 1971 was the first year for AM/FM
radios factory installed. Finally, the front brakes on all
light-duty trucks were switched from drum brakes to disc brakes,
resulting in much less brake fade under heavy use. While many prior
C/K half-ton trucks had used a six-lug bolt pattern (6 x 5.5") for
the wheels, two-wheel-drive models switched to a five-lug pattern
(5 x 5-inch bolt circle) common to Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and
Cadillac passenger cars. The 1/2 ton 4 x 4 retained the 6 lug bolt
pattern. This bolt pattern would remain the standard through the
end of the C/K series (along with the Chevrolet/GMC vans).
If you are looking for something reliable and steadfast look no
further than this one of a kind truck. With a custom deep blue and
white flame the paint is the first thing that you will notice when
this truck comes to pick you up. With unmistakable mirror like
chrome accents all around this is definitely not just for work.
With a fully functioning Holmes 480 split boom wrecker assembly,
this truck will have no problem continuing to carry the load. The
always reliable 5.7L 350ci Chevrolet V8 and 4-speed manual
transmission with a creeper gear is still running like a top. With
beautiful chrome updated exhaust stacks, this truck is not only
nice on the eyes it has a great sound. The charming like new gray
cloth interior is not only comfortable but looks great. With what
appears to be the original gauges, and working roll up windows you
would have no problem cruising along to the updated AM/FM radio.
With the sun beating down the very well done tinted windows will
keep you cool. Ready for work and with all the personality, call or
email us today for more information on this fully functioning work
horse.
