Vehicle Description
Ford Motor Company produced one of the most iconic vehicles of its
time in the 1930's when they partnered up with Briggs Mfg. Company
out of Detroit and began production of the Station Wagon which was
to be made from 1935 to 1939. Briggs would be the primary wooden
body assembler for Ford during that time and would then ship their
product to be assembled further in Fords own Dearborn Baton Rouge
plant. Primarily using maple wood and birch when building these
pieces of automotive art, the vehicle became a big hit and although
in 1935 Ford produced around 4,500 total, not many have survived to
this day making them a very collectable and desirable vehicle.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this wonderfully completed
and award winning example of the 1935 Ford Station Wagon for your
consideration. Hosting a factory available color named Tacoma
Crme, what's believed to be the original 221 Flathead engine and
mated to its smooth shifting 3-speed manual transmission, this
vehicle is sure to turn heads and be more than a thrill from behind
the wheel for trips to car shows, drive-ins and more! The interior
is very well re-conditioned and holds true to its era with its
simple seating and gauges. The canvas windows found from the second
row back are more than special as they slide upwards into the
tracks built in to the headliner of the vehicle which gives it a
wonderful "open-cabin" feel for your passengers. Overall, there is
not much to be found in the way of needed work both mechanically
and cosmetically and is sure to hold a special spot in its next
owners garage or collection. Included in the sale of this
spectacular example is an authentic set of Ford tools with jack,
three different types of car covers, a proper fuel pump as it has
been modified to fit a more consistently functioning modern one,
extra bolts, screws and other odds and ends that were kept since
its body off restoration, an original dip stick, proper ignition
parts since its upgrade to a more reliable system and even more!
