Vehicle Description
1942 Ford Super Deluxe 2 door sedan with a "special story": This
car has been in many national cross country road rallies and in the
"Great American Race" 6 different coast-to-coast events and always
finished, which is a feat in and of it's self. 'Mariah' as the car
was aptly named, with its sky blue finish, was featured in a
special on the History Channel the year it finished 2nd place
overall.
Although it retains its original flathead V8 and column shift
3-speed manual trans, certain enhancements have been made for
safety and reliability: Aluminum heavy duty radiator with electric
cooling fan, 12-volt electrical conversion, turn signals, seat
belts, HD shocks, just to name a few.
Reliability? Along with my son as navigator, I had the opportunity
to participate in the 2005 Great Race, from Washington D.C. to
Tacoma, Washington, some 4000 miles over 14 days, that is when I
first met Mariah. Equipped with a $1500 rally speedometer, this car
is ready for competitive events or sheer driving pleasure.
