DeTomaso introduced their mid-engined Pantera sports car in 1971 as a replacement to the Mangusta. The car featured coachwork by the Italian design firm Ghia and utilized a ZF transaxle and a Ford powerplant. The Panteras were sold in the United States through Lincoln Mercury dealerships. The last Pantera was delivered in 1992. Over the course of the production run, roughly 7,000 examples were produced.
This 1972 DeTomaso Pantera is presented in a brilliant shade of yellow riding on Michelin Pilot tires which are mounted on a highly polished set of 17-inch Heritage aluminum wheels. The car is powered by a 351-cid, 310-hp V-8 engine which is paired to a ZF five-speed manual transmission. Power is sent from the transmission to a limited-slip differential. Power equipment on the car includes windows and brakes. The interior is completed with black bucket seats and air conditioning.
This Pantera received awards at the Des Moines, Iowa Concours d’Elegance invitational in 2014 as well as the Milwaukee, Wisconsin Masters Concours d’Elegance invitational in 2015.
