GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu 4-door Station Wagon for purchase. Chevrolet's Chevelle, based on General Motors' new mid-sized A-body platform with its 115-inch wheelbase, debuted to rave reviews in August 1963. Within three months, the latest in Chevy's five model lines represented its second-best seller. Along with the reborn El Camino (marketed as a truck), the Chevelle family included the yeoman "300" series (available in two- and four-door sedan and two- and four-door station wagon forms) and the upscale Malibu, offered as a four-door sedan, two-door sport coupe or convertible, and two- or four-door station wagon. Both the 300 and Malibu series featured six-cylinder and V-8 lines.
This example of a 2 owner family friendly Chevelle wagon is second to none. Customer states vehicle has the original body believed to kept under a cover to preserve its handsome paint job IN Saddle Tan and eye shielding chrome and trim to uphold the originality. A matching 230ci inline straight six with a recent rebuild at a trusted shop, added was a Pentaronix ignition. Also upgraded to enhance to the ride were front disc brakes, front sway bar, newer rear shocks recently added rally wheels and newer tires. Underneath the wagon you can notice what appears to be an updated alternator, gas tank, and exhaust. From the foam cushioned front seat you can see the factory radio, 3-speed manual transmission, added auxiliary gauges, and beautiful color-keyed steering wheel. Looking in the back there is enough room for the whole family and then some, these wagons with the fully functioning rear roll down window can haul enough to go across country and back. Anybody looking to relive the glory road tripping days, or get into the classic car game this example of a station wagon is not only fun to drive but will attract some looks jealousy as well as a blast from the past, but don't worry there is plenty of room for everybody!
