For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. Here's a car that is as much fun to drive as it is to look at. This 1972 Z28 Camaro has all the refinement of the second generation design, making it a much more enjoyable car to drive than the original 1967-1969 design. But it also has classic muscle car looks that make a strong statement wherever you go. This car is a genuine L-code Z28 Camaro. It is one of only 2,575 built for the 1972 model year, when a UAW strike halted production for several months. The low production figure makes this an exceptionally rare example. 1972 is also the first year the VIN specifically identified a Camaro as a Z28 model, so authentication is much easier than previous years. This car also includes its original owner's manual and warranty booklet with Protect-O-Plate. The paint has been redone in the original code 14 Pewter Silver with YF8 black stripes. I think the color combination looks great on this body style, especially with the Z28 wheels, front chin spoiler, and 3-piece rear spoiler. Throw in the Z28 emblems and there's no mistaking this car. The sheetmetal and underside are also in very good condition, without any rust issues. The engine is a rebuilt, non-original 350 ci setup using a 3970014 casting. It produces great torque at low rpm and makes this Z28 a blast to drive. It really sounds great with the new Pypes exhaust system with x-pipe. It also has a great idle and solid vacuum, resulting in good road manners. The transmission is a TH400 automatic with a console horseshoe shifter, while the rear end is an original 10-bolt setup with 3.73 gears, Positraction, and anti-sway bar. The car also has power steering and power front disc brakes, making it easy for anyone to drive. The black interior has the A51 bucket seats which are in great condition and include the dual buckles in front for the lap and shoulder belts. The stock 130 mph speedometer and 8,000 rpm tach both work great, as do the factory fuel and temperature gauges. This car is also equipped with a factory rear window defroster. The horn, heater, wipers, dash lights, and courtesy lights are fully functional too. There is also a Pioneer in-dash CD/stereo that sounds nice. This is a great Z28 for someone who enjoys driving as much as good looks; it is a lot of fun behind the wheel but also is a big attention getter. Combine that with the car's nice condition and exceptional rarity and you've got something to get excited about. And you can't say that about every old Camaro.
