Time to sell. I love the older s-class Mercedes. However, I have five vehicles and just turned 71. So, I will be selling two vehicles this year. The 1st is a 1989 Mercedes 420SEL. The 2nd is a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM fully restored. I will be posting this vehicle with pictures and articles within the next 2 months. The 1989 Mercedes has been listed on this site for many months with very little interest. Perhaps due to the sale price. I’ve reduced the sale price $1,000 to generate interest, will entertain offers, and will be posting on other sites as well. My goal is to have this vehicle sold by June, 2018. If you are at all interested please respond with an acceptable offer. So, here is a little bit about my Mercedes.
My 1989 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL is located in Rancho Cordova, California. This vehicle has a clean title and passes the required California SMOG inspections. California’s SMOG inspection is one of the most stringent inspections within the 50 states and passing this inspection represents the engine and emissions systems are in sound mechanical condition. The transmission performs like new and its fluid has always been clear and pink. The A/C system has been retrofitted to 134A refrigerant and works very well. Also a new battery and power antenna was installed and tires replaced in the last 2,000 miles.
The 420SEL model was introduced in 1986 and ran to 1991 and was a part of Mercedes-Benz W126 S-Class platform. These updated S-Class models received a more powerful lineup of engines along with upgrades that included electronic automatic climate control, an electronically adjustable steering column, and leather steering wheel and shift-lever trim, among other additions. This Mercedes-Benz 420SEL is powered by its original 4.2L V8 engine and is backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission with 177,900 actual miles. Don’t let the mileage scare you as in general, the powertrains for Mercedes W126 models are quite bulletproof and are known to last well up to 500,000 miles with no major issues.
This car has been well cared for over its life as proof in the photos. Options on this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL for sale include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Seats, Power Sunroof, Power Windows, Anti-Lock Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Driver Airbag, Leather Interior, Radial Tires, and Aluminum Alloy Wheels. If you are looking for a luxurious German engineered sedan without having to break the bank, this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL is the way go. Please email for additional information.
