Exterior
Dark metallic candy apple blue paint is in good shape, some light scuffs can be found mostly where the doors shut and around the trunk a few chips in the paint have been touched up. Body shows no stress fractures and car has suffered no damage since built. A new windshield from Factory Five and chrome surround were recently installed.
Interior
Original style interior with Cobra style leather bucket seats is in good shape. The signature of Dick Smith adorns the glove box door.
Mechanical
Built 351C starts easily and runs very well. Owner lived in higher elevation and a re-jet of the carb should be performed if new owner is closer to sea level. Aldon shocks give the car a sporty and somewhat stiff ride but allow the car to handle very well. Steering is stiff but precise, four wheel disc brakes have race pads but work well for the street. Transmission has a race clutch and is stiff but drivable, no surprises from top-loader 4-speed. Car is registered under SB100 and is smog exempt in California.
The emergency brake is disconnected and unfortunately locking lug nut key has been misplaced.
Missing are the typical creaks and rattles of lesser quality fiberglass bodied cars. This is a very well sorted, fast and excellent sounding replica Cobra. This car was previously owned by the director/producer of “Bitten by the Snake”, Jim Colman and was featured predominantly in the film. Current (second) owner has kept the car in excellent mechanical condition and a full compliment of roadside repair parts and tools are included with the car.
