The pre-WWII coupes are really difficult to beat when it comes to
styling. The sweeping lines and mean gangster stances are really
part of a package that is tough to beat when it comes to curb
appeal. However, these cars are easily beat mechanically as they
were built almost 80 years ago and feel it when you take a drive.
That's where the street rod enthusiasts come in with great custom
builds to keep the classic looks still on the road while driving in
something with modern technology's help to make it something you
would actually want to drive for more than half a mile. 1937 was
the last year for the famous "Slantback" design option from Ford
that gives this street rod eye catching flowing lines and great
style.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this well completed and head
turning example of the 1937 Ford 4-door Sedan for your
consideration. Believed to be all steel, this restoration was
completed from 1999-2000 by Heinzman Street Rods of Nebraska which
did a full body-off restoration job that has stood the test of
time! Being brought down to bare metal, this vehicle was then
coated with an epoxy prime, a two-part base coat/clear coat DuPont
system was followed and used a stunning combination of maroon and
gold with hand painted pin striping on top to really set this one
apart. With a new engine installed recently, this GM crate engine
is believed to have as many miles as the odometer is showing, the
GM 350 turbo automatic transmission is smooth shifting and overall
this vehicle is more than ready to take to the next car show! Other
great modern amenities adding to the overall drivability of this
vehicle include power steering, power brakes, a Walker radiator, R.
Frances wiring, a new Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor was installed,
Heidts Mustang II front end, disc brakes in the front, electronic
ignition, Weld Racing mag wheels with a set of BFG radial tires
installed and even a set of new rear end gears and bearings added
to improve the comfort of the ride. The features don't stop there
as from the comfortable plush leather interior you find the added
features like air conditioning, AM/FM/CD/AUX/USB/Bluetooth capable
media center, tilt wheel but with the originality of its classic
window handles, door handles and latching still intact. A must see
within our gallery, call or email us today for more information on
this sharp Pre-War classic.
