1936 Mercedes Benz 540K Special Roadster in Marshfield, Massachusetts
You will never believe your eyes. Caruso Classic Cars is featuring a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster! Created from scratch, starting with the duplicated chassis made to original specifications. This car is powered by a 560 Mercedes V-8 fuel injected motor, 4 speed automatic transmission with independent front and rear suspension. Power disk brakes all around and power rack and pinion steering, with a Mercedes rear end. The hood is metal and the body is fiberglass replicated to the exact size of the original car in Germany. Templates were made from the original car, with 130+ pieces of chrome reproduced from the original pieces by the owner over many years. Tires are radial with spoke rims. The hubcaps are the only non-original concept on the car. The original hub caps screwed on, the hub caps here are clamped on. The interior is immaculate starting from the Mother-of-Pearl instrument panel to the dual glove boxes. The owner spent 3 days taking measurements of Bill Harrah's, Harrah's Casino, original 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster to obtain all measurements (estimated at approximately 1 million) and created all of the molds for every part of the car, the jig for the chassis, and the masters for every piece of chrome on the car. All instruments were reproduced to the same size and placement as the original, and the lights were reproduced by Bosh. The Hartz convertible top is black, and also reproduced to the original manual specifications. For more information, please contact Jen Jones at 972-906-7209.
