Vehicle Description
Transport yourself to the Indianapolis 500 in this rare 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury Indy Pace Car, complete with the original yellow flags it bore on its rear bumper as it spun around the track. This unique convertible was part of an exclusive crowd of vehicles used to pace racecars on parade laps at the Indy 500 and were distributed to Plymouth dealers. This particular car has been featured in several magazines and at the Chrysler Nationals in 1994. In fact, famous racecar driver “Big Daddy” Don Garlits signed the inside of the trunk lid at the Chrysler Nationals for the previous owners. This vehicle has power steering and power brakes, and the power top works well, too. The consignor recently installed a new distributer and said that he tuned it up for a two-hour trip, during which the car ran extremely well. The interior has held up excellently, and the plaque Plymouth installed to commemorate this vehicle as a pace car is still mounted on dash. Now is your chance to own a singular piece of American racing history.
