A real time capsule, this 1st year 240Z was built in the first few months of production and was in the 1st shipment of these new sports cars to America. It is an original 75k miles car (believed to be actual) that has recently been restored. This is a 2 owner car with a lady 2nd owner buying the car in 1972 (i bought the car in 2014 from Theresa, see pic of 72 title and pic of how the car looked then) and kept it in great condition until I purchased it and commissioned the refresh. The original engine has been rebuilt and performs like new. It received a super base coat/clear coat paint job…..shiny, no chips, dings or flaws of any kind. It was an original Safari gold, aka mustard. I had it re sprayed as Silver gray metallic…..you can’t blame me for this the way it turned out>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Japanese have always excelled in their electronics and this car is no exception..…everything works: all the gauges, radio, lights, horn, interior lights,....... heater/defroster, aftermarket radio, flashers and yes, even the clock still keeps perfect time. It has its original steering wheel and does have a small crack in the original dash pad. The interior of the car is in great condition. The seat covers have been replaced. The carpet is nice as are the original door panels>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It still has the original jack, handle in their original pouches. Also included are the original set of license plates from 1970. The windows and windshield are all original and in great condition. The windows roll up and down effortlessly. Both bumpers are bright and shiny. The underside is very clean and tidy. New brakes and exhaust system have been installed>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The engine bay is fresh, very clean and tidy and retains all its original equipment…..carbs, radiator, starter, alternator, etc. The air cleaners are upgraded to a higher flow K&N type, but the original one comes with the car. While factory smog pump was removed, it comes with the car. The hoses, plugs and plug wires, battery and fluids have been updated. The engine was ahead of its time mounting an aluminum head with an overhead cam. Both twin carbs are well tuned and there is no smoke. It idles smoothly and the engine is so very quite and well mannered. It does not leak any fluids>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Mechanically the car starts, runs and drives great. The powerful in-line 6 cylinder coupled to the 4 speed along with fully independent suspension and front disc brakes is a blast to operate. The speedometer, tachometer and a full set of gauges are all visible and provide the right feedback to the driver. It was one of the best sports cars of that era and remains so. New eight spoke rims (I have the original rims and hub caps) and new tires have been installed making this vehicle ready to go have fun with.
