This is a classic convertible that stands out with it's smooth lines and bright chrome. Classic black paint, newly replaced interior, and solid V8 performance makes for a amazing package that you can be proud to drive. You don't see too many of these Nova convertibles around. Convertibles had lower production numbers, which meant you were over 10 times more likely to see a coupe or sedan than a convertible. Also fewer received the top-of-the-line SS Nova treatment. The fact is this was one of the most expensive Novas around in the day. When new, these were actually priced higher than the next model up the Chevrolet Biscayne. I would say that rarity is truly special. The first Generation Chevy II (Nova) 62-63 originally only carried an inline-six even in SS form, but today there's a 350 cubic-inch V8, which is what this convertible should have. The 350 has great compression and is very reliable with instantaneous start up each time. The engine has the following newly installed: air cleaner, valve covers, plug wires, plugs, intake manifold, carb, Doug's full length headers, fuel pump/filter/line, alternator, water pump. It has a fairly new aluminum Griffin radiator which keep it cool all day long. The headers connects to a newer dual exhaust system that provides the perfect added bass to announce this V8. The Powerglide automatic transmission is original and has been plenty tough for the V8 and channels power to the 10-bolt rear end. The rear end has been recently gone through and also narrowed 1" per side and received new Moser steel axles. This provides a bit more room for the rear tires so it doesn't rub. It had new springs and bushings installed at that time. The shocks have been replaced on all corners along with a completed front end rebuild. The front brakes have been replaced with a newer disc brake set up and it has an added power booster. So the car stops as it should without killing your leg. I also replace the gas tank, fuel line, battery, tires. the list feels like it can go on and on and the money has obviously put into this convertible. I don't need to talk about rust because it doesn't have any. This is a true California convertible, which hasn't been close to the beach. it was stored many years inside and also as long as I have had the car it has always been in a garage. I probably have only driven it 500 miles over the past 6 years.
This car is a triple black Vin/cowl tag and is true to its SS form. It has had a fresh stage 2 paint job back in November 2015. It has a newer vinyl top with a glass back window which fits as a perfect upgrade. The top is an original power top that works great to this day. It has new weatherstripping with the top, doors, trunk, and hood. Quite a few things have been gone through on this car and many of the hard to find parts (belt line trim) have been installed back on this car to keep it as true to original form as I could. This is not a concours car, but sure is one of the best 63 convertibles out on the market today. I never wanted to hot rod or LS out this car, because I find this to be a amazing classic cruising car which all convertibles should be.
32k or make offer. Serious inquires only. Please just give me call or email.
Just to rant a little bit, my price is reasonable and certainly not around the Barrett-Jackson/Mecum fantasy world some guys are living in. If your looking to steal it, want to text me only to ask if its for sale or bottom price, or trying to sell my car for me, don't bother..... I don't need any of this and I don't use any PayPal. Kindly don't waste my time if your not serious. Thanks for checking out my add.
