Vehicle Description
We are excited to offer this mostly original Star Chief for sale.
Hailed by GM as a "Masterpiece" when first sold to the public, this
car was a luxury vehicle that stood apart from the rest. Our Star
Chief has only 64,862 miles which look to be original miles based
on information from previous owners and looking through the service
records we have on the car. According to the original 'Car
Invoice'/Bill of Sale, this car was sold new on April 28, 1954 by
Valley Pontiac in Middleburg New York for $3,360.00. That price
included options such as; Hydramatic Transmission, Power Brakes,
White Wall Tires, Appearance Group, Electric Antenna, Two-Tone
paint, and Spot Lamp.
Finished in Coral Red, the body of the car is solid although the
paint is showing its age in some areas of the car and looks to have
been re-painted at some point quite some time ago. All the trim is
in good condition, and we do have the original fender skirts.
The interior is in very good condition for its age, the front seat
upholstery has been replaced recently, but other than that is
original.
Under the hood is the well known Pontiac Straight Eight mated with
a 4-speed Hydramatic. This car runs great, and a cruise down the
road is no problem in this Star Chief.
