Ford made only minor changes to the Mustang for the 1966 model year. To the exterior of the car this included removing chrome trim in the grille leaving only the Mustang logo, giving it a floating appearance. Nineteen sixty-six also marked the first year for Federally mandated safety regulations which led Ford to include emergency flashers, seat belts, and a padded instrument panel as standard equipment on the Mustang.
This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback has been beautifully restored. Presented in red the car rides on thin whitewall tires mounted on factory wheels. The Mustang is powered by a 289-cid V-8 engine which is paired to a three-speed automatic transmission. The interior of the vehicle is completed in black featuring factory air conditioning, Rally Pac gauges, a radio and bucket seats separated by a console. While Ford produced 35,698 Fastback Mustangs in 1966, you’d be hard-pressed to find an example in this great of condition.
