For Sale: 1969 Cadillac DeVille Station Wagon in Auburn, Indiana
To be OFFERED AT AUCTION at Auctions America’s Auburn Fall event, September 1-4, 2016.
Chassis No. B9114767
Estimate: $ 20,000 - $ 30,000 US
For 1969, Cadillac introduced what was then referred to as their “all-time masterpiece”; beautifully new and distinctively Cadillac. All of the cars that Cadillac offered for this model year were equipped with a 472 cubic inch, 375-hp V-8 engine. No other engine options were available. At the time, this was the largest production V-8 to power a passenger vehicle. The automatic transmission that would back this power house of an engine was a Turbo-Hydramatic.
This Cadillac station wagon is finished with green paintwork and complemented by fender skirts, nice chrome molding, chrome bumpers and a roof rack. The car is riding on thin whitewall tires with full Cadillac wheel covers. The interior has been finished in what appears to be faux alligator skin upholstery. The floors are covered with a contrasting carpet. The interior has an electric front seat, climate control and a rear folding seat that maximizes cargo space.
Basic research indicates that the factory manufactured 14 such cars in 1969 with the "Body by Fisher" and conversion by Custom Craft Division of Automobile Specialty, Detroit, Michigan. Unfortunately we have not been provided any information that would indicate this example as one of these special factory cars, or if is instead a nicely done independent conversion.
