Meaning 'The Road' in Spanish, this 1971 Chevrolet El Camino is built to do just that, get you down the road in style. Built the third week of January, 1971 at Chevrolet's Van Nuys plant, this El Camino features a silver exterior with a cowl induction hood with black hood stripes, and a black bench seat interior. Power comes from a 350ci V8 engine that features an Edelbrock Performer intake topped with an Edelbrock Performer 600CFM carburetor with electric choke. Other features under the hood include aluminum finned valve covers and a chrome alternator, HEI distributor, power steering and power disc brakes in the front with drums in the rear. The interior of the El Camino retains its stock appearance but has been upgraded with a gauge setup that includes transmission temperature, oil pressure, water temperature, and a voltmeter, along with a tastefully installed Sony head unit with speakers installed behind the seat. Additionally, a center console with cup holders has been added for modern day functionality, while a dash mat has been added to protect the dashboard. For security, an ignition-cutoff switch has been added to the car. Out back, the pickup bed has been Rhino-lined for durability, and the rear features a dual exhaust. Traction is handled by 15-inch American Racing AR23 wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. This El Camino starts with a flick of the key and drives like a dream, and with the useful pickup bed out back it would make a perfect functional weekend cruiser and hauler.
