In 1970 Pontiac introduced the second generation of the Firebird.
For the 1976 model year, Pontiac celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The Pontiac line commemorated this with a black and gold special
edition. The popular second generation Firebird was produced
through 1981. This 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has been restored
to its current excellent appearing state. It is presented in
factory code 36 Firethorn Red with the desirable glass T-tops
option (storage bags included). Exterior features include the
instantly recognizable bird hood decal and an induction scoop. The
car is powered by a 400-cid V-8 engine which is paired to a
four-speed manual transmission. One of only 5,424 examples with
this engine and transmission combination. Power options on the car
include windows, steering and brakes. The interior is completed in
red with bucket seats, console, featuring a radio with eight-track
player. Additionally there is air conditioning, tilt steering
column and handsome factory engine turning detail on the dash
fascia. The impressive visual presentation is furthered by the
factory honeycomb alloy wheels. Its reported the car retains all
original body panels and PHS documentation is included with the
vehicle.
