Exotic Classics presents a wonderful AMC AMX finished in Matador
Red with white stripes and a black interior. The odometer shows
37,233 miles. A frame-on restoration was done about 6 years ago and
still looks very nice. The paint is shiny and shows no fading, the
engine compartment is detailed and the interior and chrome look
great. This AMX is very fun and can be driven with pride by the
next owner. This AMX currently has a 1971 version of the 401 AMC
engine installed, however, the original matching numbers 343cid Go
Package engine is included in the sale. This 401 engine has been
bored .030 over, line bored, Sterling pistons .030 over with seal
power rings, Melling oil pump, Comp cam with Johnson lifters,
milled cylinder heads with bronze guides and hardened seats, Victor
aluminum intake and 4-barrel carburetor. The shifting duties are
taken care of by the Borg Warner Gear M11 automatic transmission,
while the horsepower is put to the ground through the twin grip
differential. To say this 401 runs is an understatement! Features
include Power disc brakes, Rally wheels with polyglass red lines,
Power steering, Automatic transmission, Bucket seats with center
console, AM radio, and tachometer. This car is a Go Package car.
This is a great 2-seater muscle car that will provide years of
endless fun. The AMX was considered the sawed-off little ruffian of
the muscle car world in the late 1960s. What the AMX lacked in
stature, it made up for in guts and attitude. During its production
run from 1968 to 1970, only 19,134 AMX were produced. In 1968,
6,725 AMX were built. Out of those, 902 had the 343 engine option
with automatic transmission.
