Ford expanded on their array of offers with a new model line in 1938 to try to put something in the middle of Ford and Lincoln. All Ford vehicles received a sweeping overhaul in 1941 as the Mercury Eight became the first model designation of the brand. World War II interrupted production shortly leaving the model as just such until 1946. The Mercury Eight is an uncommon body that is popular among full-size classic collectors as well as many custom builders. They're large curvy bodies make quite an impression for lasting style among enthusiasts today.
This 1947 Mercury Eight comes out of an estate that kept it to mostly original specs. It's powered by the legendary Flathead 239ci V8 engine and 3-speed column shift giving that classic full classic driving experience. This car's appearance inside and out is a great example of the classic body and interior styling. This is a great example to drive as is or bring to car show standards.
