Brilliant colors and smart new styling details were the order for the 1952 Chevrolet lineup. A cleaned up new grille design, new wider parking lights, trim and ornamentation front and rear added to the beauty of this very popular choice in the similarly priced cars of the period.
This cosmetically restored, rust-free Chevrolet is finished in a subtle two-tone gray with similar interior tones. This is thought to be the Sport Coupe version versus the similar two-Door Sedan. The Sport Coupe is denoted by body style number 1027 and has a shorter roof line, shorter rear side window length and a longer rear deck. Reliable sources indicate that while over 215,000 Styleline Deluxe Two-Door Sedans were built, slightly less than 37,000 of the Styleline Deluxe Sport Coupes rolled off the assembly floor in 1952.
The 216.5-cid, 92-hp inline six-cylinder engine is reported to have been rebuilt approximately 1,000 miles ago with hardened valve seats. This unit is paired with a three-speed manual transmission. The restoration included stripping the body to bare metal and repainted in the attractive two-tone gray. At the same time, the interior received fresh gray cloth upholstery with dark red piping and new chromed elements were fitted; this occurred in 2014. Other features include the owner’s manual, rear fender skirts, period Chevrolet AM radio and jack. Among the additions to the Chevy are chromed wire wheels, whitewall tires, dual exhaust and power steering. The owner states that the approximate 29,000 miles are original to the car; please note the title states exempt.
