1956 Oldsmobile 88 Hardtop
Wow! This is one great 88!
The exterior of this car is near perfect with show quality dark red (for the front with scallops) and white paint. The pin-striping, louvers on the hood, blue dot tail lights, dummy spotlights and chrome wheels with like-new whitewall tires, set off the period look just right. All of the chrome and windows are in excellent condition as well. The hood, trunk and doors are all leaded and the doors have remote poppers operated from the key chain or from inside the car.
The interior is mostly original in style but has been completely redone...again to show quality. Everything has been replaced or redone when necessary and now includes full gauges, stereo system and the controls to the air ride system. All of the upholstery is roll and pleat done professionally and the headliner is like new. All interior lights and other electronics function as they are supposed to. The car is easy to manage even with all of the power with the power steering and brakes.
The engine is a built 455 with plenty of chrome tied to a custom dual exhaust flowing through Lake side pipes complete with flame throwers. The car has a 400 Turbo transmission with shift kit and a red die shifter to tie in with the color and style of the interior. It sits on a totally custom suspension complete with an air ride system hidden behind a false wall in the trunk.
No expense was spared with this show-winning 88 and it has won numerous shows and even has been featured on the Goodguys t-shirts more than once.
You will be hard pressed to find a nicer period correct street rod than this one, especially for one that only costs $29,900.00!
