For Sale: 1988 Land Rover Defender in Southampton, New York

Restored a little over 2 years ago by Riverhouse in the Netherlands (see write up from them below). Powering steering added 1 1/2 ago by Georgica Services. Very few miles since the restoration. This LHD 1988 Landrover Defender 110 SoftTop has been restored in our workshop during the past few months. . This LHD Defender was build for the Ministry of Defense and therefor comes without modern options like power steering and airconditioning. Date into service was Nov 1988. In 2006/2007 it was refurbished in the UK under the LEP ( Life Extension Project), the best 3300 Landrovers Defenders were hand selected and rebuild for the MoD. After rebuild the vehicle was shipped to Gibraltar where it was rarely used. In 2010 it was fitted with a new engine and in april 2012 it was shipped back to the UK and in June 2012 it was release from active duty. . During the rebuild the following was carried out : * Repaint in Cornish Cream, all glass, interior, rollcage removed * Chassis cleaned and coated with RX5, RX7 and RX10, inside and outside * 2.5 NA Diesel Engine and 5 speed gearbox rebuild in 2010 and fully serviced * New wider steel wheels and big tyres * 3 new Leather front seats in Cinnemon Daimond Stitched leather * 6 new Folding jump seats in Cinnemon Daimond Stitched leather * Exmoor special moulded matting in the front cab * Safety Devices mulit point rollcage extending externally for protection * All small steel parts blasted and powdercoated * All nut / bolts / hardware and brackets CAD plated * Custom made Soft Top in Cinnemon Mohair with roll up side windows * Powdercoated folding side and rear steps * Powdercoated 2 inch ball hitch * Chequer plate to bonnet and wing tops * Spare wheel carrier on the hood installed . Chassis is in excellent condition, body excellent, doors excellent, mechanically excellent. This vehicle is fitted with the much desired alloy removable doortops. .
