1957 was actually the first year for the Chevy 4 wheel drive, but as you can see, this '56 Big Back Window short box makes a nice 4 X 4 as well. Add to this sharp looking truck, the updated front suspension, power steering and power front disc brakes, you've got a classic 4 X 4 that will certainly grab attention everywhere you go; and drive a lot nicer than it did originally! The paint is a base/coat, clear coat laid on a nice strait, original body and is remarkably brilliant. The truck sits on its original frame and has been lifted about 4”. This is a fun truck to drive and has been with the same owner for 20 years. The engine was new at that time and has since moved the truck around about 35,000 miles. The truck always starts easily and runs great. All of the original gauges function properly, and all of the lights work. The bed wood is showing some age but is in good condition. The wheels and tires look great and fit the truck well. This is a very nice “Driver” quality 1956 Chevy truck that can be driven daily if desired, used to haul anything you like, go to a cruise-in, or car show. Whatever you want. This is a very diverse truck. The big back window cab not only looks cool, but really serves an important purpose, such as make this truck easy to see out of when changing lanes or hooking up a trailer. Whatever your intention is for a truck like this, this truck can handle it!
