The re-launch of the GTO was prompted by a Car & Driver article praising the Holden Commodore SS as the best vehicle GM currently offered, but it was only offered in Australia. GM Chairman Bob Lutz agreed and decided to bring the Holden beast to the United States to revive the very popular GTO moniker. The 2005 GTO came standard with hood scoops, split rear exhaust, and a revised rear fascia. The LS2 engine is a monster 6.0L V8 producing 400 horsepower paired with a sport suspension that makes this car an absolute thrill to drive.
Speaking of thrills, this '05 GTO in Barbados Blue has no shortage of them. This car has been tastefully modified for high performance with a dyno sheet boasting over 480 horsepower to the rear wheels. It's powered by the original engine paired with a T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission with additional features including Ported Fast 102 intake manifold, Nick Williams 102 throttle body, Baker Engineering Custom Cam & valve springs, Harrop Rear Differential Cover, Tick Performance Master Cylinder, Dynotech long tube headers, Monster stage 3 clutch, lightened flywheel, Eaton Trutrac locker, 4.11 gear ratio, G-Force level 2 anti-wheel hop kit, G-Force level 2 axle stubs, and the car has been converted to E85.
