With a performance-built 327 V8, deep red paint, and thumpin' stereo system, we would like to call this 1981 Chevrolet Malibu a sleeper, but this coupe has just been so well customized that it can't help but make an impression.
The chiseled good looks of this GM intermediates have aged rather well, and the real secret behind this one is the level of quality. You see it in how the Burgundy paint has an impressive shine and highlights the proper fit of the sheetmetal. The chrome bumpers and delicate side trim shine like mirrors. Of course no one will mistake this coupe for some regular survivor. It has seriously intimidating custom features such as 15-inch Cragar SS wheels, staggered front/rear tire sizes for an aggressive stance, tinted windows, and the custom steel hood with a two-inch power bulge.
The custom interior starts with a front bench that offers a middle seat if you need it, but a fold-down armrest for individual comfort. The original Dark Claret color is now in a comfortable tweed cloth that's on both rows of seats, door panels, and the custom flame headliner. Power locks, an alarm system, and a 3,600-watt subwoofer AM/FM/CD stereo sound system makes this a cool ride, but you can already see was custom built to be a driver's car. That's why you get the three-spoke sports steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, and the short-throw Hurst shifter.
When you open the hood you can be mesmerized by the cool flames etched into the air cleaner and valve covers, but it's what's beneath those that's really special. It's a 327 cubic-inch V8 from 1968. That's right, you've got a great small block from the height of the muscle car era. Making sure it lives up to this history are serious performance upgrades, including a .30 over kit, forged pistons, roller rockers, Weber four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock performer aluminum intake, and plenty more upgrades (call for all the details.) This is supported by reliable components like steel braided fuel lines and an aluminum radiator. You have complete control over this powerful motor thanks to the Muncie M21 close ratio four-speed manual transmission. This feeds a stout Grand National Positraction rear end that's running versatile 3.45 gears. On the street people will be instantly understand the kind of V8 power you've got thanks to rumble coming from the header-fed dual exhaust. But while this coupe might sound like a wild beast, it's easy to control thanks to features like power steering and front disc brakes.
Fast, affordable, and very custom, this cool little Malibu delivers big in the areas that matter most. You don't need to spend a big pile of cash to have a bunch of fun, and this car is proof. Call today!!!
