Vehicle Description
STK 2135 1957 Chevrolet 150
If AutoBarn were to publish a magazine, this ’57 Chevy 150 Resto would be the cover story for the first issue. This may be the nicest restoration we have ever seen. There is no end to the attention to detail on this 150 Sedan. From the body to the drivetrain to the undercarriage, this car is preeminent. The superb black/silver paintwork was completed in 2012. Judging by the incredible results, this car must have been blocked five or six times during the preparation stage. It is stunning. The interior maintains this image with Grey UltraLeather seats and door panels, plush carpeting, period-correct Corvette inspired steering wheel and an extensive gauge package mounted in the factory tri-pod dash. For comfort there is custom A/C, tinted windows, AM/FM stereo and tilt wheel. The entire drivetrain was taken from a very low-mileage 1993 Corvette. The 350ci LT-1 motor (rated at 300HP) is entirely stock except for a set of custom exhaust manifolds. The Corvette Z-F six-speed manual transmission is close ratio, but will still allow you to cruise effortlessly in fifth or sixth gear (6th -.050:1 ratio). The underside of this Chevy is just as impressive. Hot Rod Jim’s Chassis, Luling, Texas, built the frame. It is fitted with the Gen4 Corvette front suspension w/coil-overs and independent, multi-link rear suspension. The posi-traction differential holds 3.90:1 gearing. Other chassis features include: power steering, 4-wheel power disc brakes with drilled rotors and Hankook radials mounted on Budnick “Gasser” alloy wheels. Look at the pictures again, but understand that they do not do this car justice - it must be seen. To paraphrase one of America’s best-ever automotive marketers: “If you can find a better ’57 Chevy than this, buy it.” Call 800-650-1055 or visit www.autobarnclassiccars.com for additional information.
