Understood to be a original Brewster Green and Glossy Black two-tone paint scheme, this Fisher-bodied Type 61 shows very good with original patina. The green is tastefully broken up with the glossy black upper part of the body and fenders. The green running boards with Cadillac logo step plates look absolutely great. The black rear dual spare tire mount fits well and looks original. The front grille and bezel with the Cadillac wreath and crest are in very good overall condition. The period correct headlights with nickel-plated bezels, all side markers and taillights are in very condition with no hazing or cracks. The large factory black vinyl roof and black vinyl sun visor fit well and are in very good condition, however, there is a slight tear on the passenger side of the top. Inside, this Cadillac features a dark Saddle Tan mohair interior with front and rear seats that look fantastic. The matching door panels with walnut trim and dashboard are a continuation of the striking interior of this sedan and look incredible. The Tobacco Tan headliner completes rest of the interior and is in very good condition. All the original gauges have a correct period appearance. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the brass handles and fittings to the leaded crystal flower vases. The functioning Norwalk Lindell floor heater, walnut three-spoke steering wheel with matching shift knob are in very good condition. This 1922 Caddy is equipped with one of the earliest production copies of the 314 cid Cadillac L-Head V8 engine, fed by a Cadillac single-barrel carburetor. Power is transferred to the rear wheels by a three-speed selective sliding gear manual transmission with chrome nickel steel gears and shafts. The car rests upon a solid front axle and full floating rear axle with rear wheel mechanical brakes. The car's wheels are 23-inch, wooden 12-spoke affairs with green, hand-painted detail on each spoke and brass Cadillac center caps on Van Ness tires. This Cadillac comes with a story different than most of its ilk. It spent a great deal of its career in service as a courtesy vehicle for an area Cadillac dealership. Since there wasn't a service department in those days, the mechanic would actually make "house calls" to customers and fix their automobiles where ever they were--at home, the office or on the side of a road. After providing great customer service for many years, this 1922 Cadillac Victoria sedan Type 61 was retired and eventually found its way into a St. Louis car museum collection. An architect and classic car enthusiast from the Northeast purchased the car in 2010 and began an extensive mechanical restoration which totaled $14,000. Many of the parts had to be reproduced but this architect, with his engineering background, submitted drawings and schematics for the missing parts and had them machined. The final results were so well-executed that the museum he bought the car from actually bought it back! This charming original Cadillac is an absolutely pleasure to drive, with known, impeccable provenance and it provides its new owner the opportunity to continue a proud tradition of Nickel Era touring!... GET OUT AND DRIVE! Included is one of the most extensive collection of receipts covering just about every aspect of a $14,000 mechanical restoration. Documented procedures include body repair and alignment adjustments, an engine rebuild, fuel system renewal, the electrical system and cooling system. Along with all the receipts are drawings, architectural rendering of NLA (no longer available) parts that were machined and reproduced and much, much, more! Examples of similar cars included Packards, Lincolns, Auburns, Cords, Duesenbergs and Pierce-Arrows of the day. Current mileage on the odometer shows 9,451 miles, sold as is with a mileage exempt title.
